HELLO!
I came to this work through the belief that there could be no greater job than helping people through the joyous and challenging process of having a baby. After exploring the field, I decided to work as a doula for a few months to learn the ropes. I didn’t anticipate falling in love with the work and the families I served. Nearly four years later, I couldn’t be more thrilled to be supporting the families of my home city as a birth and postpartum doula.
My goal is to help you have a positive experience – whatever that may look like for you. I am sensitive to the unique needs of individual families and I strongly believe there is no one right path for everyone. I want to do things your way. I strive to increase the confidence of new parents, and I will offer unconditional support, evidence-based information, and lots of back rubs along the way.
In terms of training, I have completed both DONA and The Matrona’s doula trainings as well as two years in the Manhattan Birth Mentorship program. I have extensive childbirth education and breastfeeding training. I teach private childbirth education courses and work as a homebirth midwife’s assistant. I am CPR certified, I have studied the Bradley Method, Spinning Babies, Havening Touch, massage/comforting touch for labor, and many more. In unrelated news, I have a BA in American History from Barnard College at Columbia University.
I am a native Upper West Sider and I live in Prospect Lefferts Gardens with my partner and our many plants.
